“If you have ever dreamed of staying at a villa in Tuscany, no movie could prepare you for how incredibly wonderful this villa is. It’s every dream come true you have ever had. The villa itself is gorgeous, warm, welcoming, with enough rooms and space, indoor and out, for everyone in your group to have all the privacy they need, and to come together in beauty when they want. Vineyards, views, comfort, a magnificent swimming pool, bottles of wine for you from the estate, olive oil, it’s heaven. The wifi is fantastic, the location is amazing. You can walk down to a little town with a perfect little market and wonderful restaurant, but you will want to bring fresh foods back from the market to cook at home. There are so many little villages nearby to drive to and spend each day exploring, with a big lunch in every piazza you visit. There is a train station nearby; you can be in Florence in twenty one minutes if you take the fast train, or just over an hour for the regular train. You can visit Florence care free, eat, see the museums, then come home in comfort in the evening for wine and a light dinner. Or you can just stay and never leave the villa, relax and breathe it all in. I just cannot tell you enough how fantastic it is to stay here. Roberto and his family make you feel like family, and the dinner they came over and cooked for us will be in our memories forever. So will the entire trip. Enjoy. Thank you Roberto!!”

Our family (2+3) had a pleasant visit to Lo Scarpellino in early July. Weather was nice as the day's highest temperature varied between 29 and 35 degrees (Celsius) allowing the ladies improve their tan by the pool every day. We appreciated the amazing view over the hills available in a terrace where we had our breakfasts and dinners. The house is in an isolated location surrounded by olive trees and vineyard i.e. no neighbors in sight, only few lights and roofs far a way in the hills.
Furnishing was good: we liked beds, big table in house and in terrace, and sofas. There was all one needs to cook and eat. There was even house wine to buy that beat house wine of many trattorias in taste. Even though there was no air condition, the house remained cool.
What we recommend to take into account when staying in La Scarpellino: (1) take moscuito repellent with you, (2) plan to make few trips by car, Tuscany cities like Florence and Sienna worth visiting are nearby as well as Chianti wine area.
Overall in scale 1 to 10 we rated Lo Scarpellino 10.

My wife and I stayed at the villa last year (2016) for a week and had such a wonderful time that we booked TWO WEEKS this year! It was even more magnificent for us. As a touring musician with my band America, I have travelled the world for decades and I can say that waking up to see the sun shining on the olive grove and vineyard with the beautiful countryside all around us is simply spectacular and peaceful. The villa is so comfortable and accomodating. My wife loves the kitchen, comfortable dining & living spaces, patios, and the gardens all around with roses and poppies in bloom. It is quiet and relaxing in the hilltop countryside, and a great base to leave for our daily adventures around Tuscany (Arezzo, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Cortona, Volterra...Rome!). We also recommend the restaurant in town (Badia Agnano) called La Chiave dei Sapori and the host/chef, Leo!
We can't imagine any better to stay. If you are considering a vacation in Tuscany, and are looking for a villa experience, there can be no better place than Lo Scarpellino! Enjoy...

Hello Roberto! Just writing to say thanks to you and Donella for your
gracious hospitality during our stay at Lo Scarpellino last week! The
villa is amazing; clean and comfortable, with gorgeous peaceful views of
the surrounding countryside. And the meals prepared by Donella and her
sister were fantastic. All in our group had a wonderful time, starting
with you retrieving us from the piazza in Badia Agnono when our GPS
said we'd arrived! Your good humor and warmth are genuine and added
immensely to our enjoyment. Thanks again for everything. We hope to
return again someday and will definitely recommend your property to
others without hesitation.

Dear Roberto,
please find below our review for your website in German language. What
it says is essentially: perfect house, perfect hosts, we enjoyed it very
much and really recommend the house to others, who want to go to
Tuscany.
Thank you very much for a great time in Italy! Best regards, Volker

When we arrived at the villa we were welcomed by Roberto and his wife.
As a welcome gift she had baked delicious cakes for us.
We were
immediately amazed by the beautiful setting, the vineyard and olive
trees. The wine that Roberto brews itself is very tasteful!
Lo Scarpellino is a typical Italian cosy and charmant house. The view is very idyllic.
Each
room is spacious and has a private bathroom. Downstairs and outside is
also a bathroom and toilet. More comfort than necessary!
The kitchen and living room are also equipped with all the necessities.
The internet is a bit on the slow side and not everywhere in the house (especially outdoors) accessible.
The pool is very nice and provided of plenty sun loungers.
We had a wonderful staying at Lo Scarpellino and want to thank Roberto and his wife for the hospitality!
Grazie di tutto!
Greetings,
Wim and Magali July 2016
A presto,

Our recent vacation to Lo Scarpellino lived up to all of our expectations and more. On the evening we arrived we enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal prepared by Roberto's wife. The wine available from their vineyard added to the experience. The renovated farm house was beautiful with incredible views from the back patios and indoor living spaces. Each bedroom had king size beds with their own baths although mattresses were a bit firm. There were another two baths down stairs as well. Having internet was a plus although it was a bit slow at times. A walk in one direction takes you to a very small town called San Pancrazia while the other direction takes you into Badia Agnano....both involve some up and down. At Robert's recommendation we ate at La Chiave Dei Sapori in Badio Agnano (the best meal we had in Italy). A car is a must if you plan on visiting surrounding areas such as San Gimignano or Montepulciano, both within an hour and a half drive. On our final day we decided to visit a local winery called Poggio Molina. Watch closely for the sign and don't be discouraged by the narrow dirt road. In the end you will be glad you made the trip. For 15 Euro each we were served some incredible home cooked dishes to share and generous samples of five different wines topped off with a tour of their wine cellar.
All in all a fantastic vacation. May 28-June 4, 2016

My wife and I just returned from the villa with wonderful memories! It was a dream come true...everything and more that we ever imagined life would be like in the countryside of Tuscany. The villa is historic and beautiful with all our needs met. My wife loved the kitchen with every amenity possible. The landscape around us was magnificent with olive groves and vineyards. Every view was a postcard picture! Roberto and his family were great hosts and took care of our needs. It's an unforgettable memory!
Ciao!

An idyllic week in a setting fit for a king! Our stay at Lo Scarpellino more than met our expectations. A gem of a villa with spacious bedrooms each with an en suite bathroom set in a vineyard and an olive grove overlooking an unbelievable Tuscan landscape. Our hosts Roberto, Donella, Loretta and Giovani were gracious and very welcoming. Their warm and endearing personalities made us feel so at home in a country that was not our own. To say we recommend the Villa Lo Scarpellino is an understatement.New Orleanians, May 2016The Eadys, Leas and Paddocks
Here some pictures of the wedding for Georgann and James at your villa!
Our vacation to Italy was the BEST holiday we’ve ever had! Your villa is an absolutely wonderful home with plenty of room, all the amenities we could want and a view that we will always remember. Please give your beautiful wife and her sister a pinch on their bums for me and tell them that I miss them (and you too). We still await your email telling us when you will come and visit us at our “villa” in beautiful North Carolina. Warm regards,
Larry, September
Our experience at this property has been very positive. The owners were very welcoming. They made dinner for us the second night, brought us wine from the vineyard, champagne and cookies and chocolates for my daughter for Easter.
The vineyard and olive trees were beautiful. It was nice waking up to birds singing. This is a beautiful property. When anything was not right, Roberto was right there to fix the problem.
Norma, March
The house was perfect in every way...even the pool was kept very clean by the owner's son...great location for day trips and wonderful restaurants nearby! All in all a 10 without a doubt!
The views from the terrace were amazing. The owner/manager and his wife were really wonderful and very helpful.
The little village of Badia Agnano is charming and everyone in the little shops was most helpful as we speak no Italian.
Charlotte, July
Wonderful, very relaxing and comfortable. We travelled with 2 young children ages 3 and 1 and the accommodations worked well for them too.
The location was ideal, the views were spectacular, and the owners were fantastic! They treated us like family - our only regret is not spending enough time with them.
Steven, July
It was a fantastic week for 6 adults and 3 young children. The property was the highlight.
Hard to specify one thing but it can be wrapped up in this ... spectacular view, pool, bedrooms with king size beds and private baths, private, and reasonable access to all of Tuscany. And helpful owner.
Stillman, October
It was a very enjoyable week. The house was very clean and the owners were helpful without being intrusive.
Enjoyed Most:
It was nice that each bedroom had an en suite bathroom. The large dining table was very nice, as were the sitting areas outside. There were plenty of places for our entire group to gather comfortably.

We had a wonderful experience. The owners couldn't have been more accommodating.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were delightful, warm, helpful, and very friendly.
The view was amazing and the outdoor areas were spacious and beautiful.
It was a good distance from most places we visited.
The mountains and wildflowers were awesome. The small towns near us were charming.

We spent many hours in advance of our rental reviewing many listings attempting to find the absolute perfect villa and I am overjoyed to say that in this particular case the reality now only lived up to the billing but well surpassed it! Podere della Fraternita was a dream come true.
Located atop a hill with wondrous views and completely secluded, the villa was a great place to "get away from it all" and relax. The interior rooms were very nice, but we especially enjoyed the many outdoors areas overlooking the pool, surrounding hills, and the vineyards and olive groves. The villa was stocked with the owner's own locally produced wine and olive oil which we enjoyed drinking and cooking with ... it was truly a once in a lifetime experience!
Our villa was very centrally located for many excellent day trips. Florence, Siena, Arezzo, and Monte San Savino all wonderful cities to explore were all very nearby and Assisi was only about an hour and a half away by car. The owner suggested a very good local restaurants for the nights we ate out and there were many local vineyards to explore for wine tastings.
Joseph, May
Absolutely perfect. I would change nothing.
The views and the peacefulness.
The location was perfect for touring all the towns and areas we wanted to travel to.
Anne , June
We really enjoyed the villa. It suited our holiday plans and there was plenty of room for the eight of us. The grounds, the pool, and the view were outstanding! The dinner and decorations prepared for us by the owners for our 25th anniversary were amazing!
The rustic Tusca atmosphere and the fact that each bedroom had its own bathroom was great.
The vineyards, the view, the peacefulness, and scenery.
Darryl, June
My husband and I travelled with our 2 and 4 year old, my mother, and aunt, and the house was fabulously suited for all. Loved the privacy of the individual rooms and the charming, large public spaces.
Kids loved the pool. We loved the patio for eating and the beautiful and peaceful view.
The location was absolutely perfect! We did many day trips and never spent more than 1-2 hours getting to so many wonderful places.
Amanda, July
This villa deserves a 5 star rating...it couldn't have been any better. We enjoyed being there so much, we hesitated to go out and explore the area. The villa lacked nothing and we had a wonderful experience. Will come here again!
The villa provided space for everyone. Rooms are big, bathrooms are modern, outdoor patios and scenery were delicious.
Beautiful Tuscany! Everywhere we looked, the scenery was breathtaking...area around the villa was quiet and restful. The villa is in a perfect location for day trips to Siena, Arezzo, and the hill towns.
Rita, July
Very good. The property was outstanding.
The living quarters.
Nothing bad. Had trouble finding it with GPS. Asked in town for directions.
The beauty.
Owners are very nice!
Stephen, October
Fantastic.
The wonderful outside areas and the great room where we had a chance to eat together and relax.
The exquisite beauty of the countryside.
Charlotte, October
Excellent location from which to enjoy the beauty and ambiance of Tuscany. Close enough to all the major sites, nestled in a peaceful, unhurried Tuscan village and surronded by unknown gems that surprise and delight. Nearby towns provide a convenient and "fun" shopping experience (Lack of Italian language skills is no problem as pointing, gesticulating, and smiling prove adequate to any communication challenge.) The property itself is clean, with essential modern conveniences yet clearly Tuscan with its beginnings going back a thousand years. Roberto and his family are responsive to your needs, very friendly and completely transparent.
Location, ambiance, convenience and the owners.
Loved it all.
It is peaceful and incredibly beautiful.
Francis, May
We had a great time.
It was away from busy areas.
The area was beautiful and good restaurants were easy to find.
The owners were terrific. No problems coming or leaving.
Nick, September
Four couples had a wonderful time here. The weather was great in early April. We enjoyed the outside although the pool was covered. We knew at the time of booking that the pool didn't open until May 1.
The four bedrooms, each with their own bath.
We visited many hill towns and most were less than an hour drive from the villa.
The owners were terrific and very friendly and our check in/check out processes were smooth.
